Its about half way through the show and they are talking about the Blue Peter dog Petra and how she died a couple of episodes in so the Blue Peter executive got her replaced seceretly so as to 'not upset the kiddies' ...
Richard Thingy started saying that a grave for Petra used to be at the BBC Blue Peter garden and that he'd passed by it every day for ages . So Ross "I'm a funny comedian,me" Noble pipes up [we are paraphrasing here] Oh I thought you meant that you went to the grave on purpose all in goth make up to be all sad, or words to that effect. Oh,hahahaha, how hysterical, oh I am holding my sides...
Oi; Noble? Nooooooooo! (aka Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse) After reading all the accounts of goths attacked and even killed or suicided due to a**eholes who decided to judge them on appearance then proceed to beat the living s**t out of them, and the high profile case of Sophie Lancaster, I think his remark was in very bad taste. When even people dressed all in black with long black hair starts dissing goths then it's obvious that anti-goth prejudice is rife throughout the UK. The audience didn't really laugh much at his asinine comment so that's something I suppose, but for me the inclusion of goths in the hate crime legislation cannot come soon enough :|
Of COURSE goths sit in graveyards all day (NOT!)
All our rooms ARE painted black and we sit in the dark slitting our wrists (er,no,that's not a goth,or an emo for that matter- that's a HUMAN BEING suffering from depression)
Of COURSE goths deserve it, serves em right for dressing up like that...oh f**k off! Last time I checked it was not against the law or punishable by 'vigilantes' to wear clothes or make up or have hair?! See how ridiculous the prejudice is when you apply it to 'mainstream' culture
It is time this prejudice was knocked on the head...In this so-called PC country of mine (and the only reason 'we' went that way was to combat the prejudice towards women, people of colour/certain religions and LGBs that riddled the UK; in other words we are an intolerant nation and need law to tell 'us' and/or force 'us' to be "nice" to other humans)there is room to add one more subsection of society to that ever expanding list of those suffering prejudice. Part of me wonders (rhetorically) who is it exactly that is being prejudiced when I see grant forms that give precdence to people of colour and the disabled(and god thing too) but not to LBGTs or alternative people. Oo, look,it's the Government; the same one that tells us we have to be 'nice' to others with laws like The Sex Discrimination Act, the Gender Recognition Act sexual orientation rulings, laws for employees, etc etc. And it's also mainstream society that are prejudiced, and who follow the letter but not the spirit of the law...
Did you know that there is NO police remit for crimes against alternative people?(Thought they do have an LGB and SEPARATE TG remit ...) Apparently no crimes are committed upon this group of people for BEING that group of people, else they'd have a policy on it. This HAS to change, else the chavs are laughing all the way to a slap on the wrist in court and kudos from their mates for taking out another alt kid.
Did you know that CRB checks(criminal record checks) follow a different prodcedure if you are transgender???i.e the TG is not treated the same as any other human being in regard to their FITNESS to have a 'sensitive' job such as nursing, teaching, youth work etc. Again TGs are suspected right from the start...if the CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) tried to do this to a black person or a Muslim, people would be up in arms about it, but Alt Lifestyle people have no rights in this area and no-one to protest to over such treatment...
So yeah, go on Ross Noble, take the p**s out of goths. When someone hits YOU in the face with a piece of scaffolding for wearing black and having long hair then you can have a jolly good laugh at those whimsical little chavs who laughed along with you at your Blue Peter garden grave joke and who then thought YOU were a goth and thus fair game...(erm, you wear all black and have long black hair mate, you're NOT safe!)This is a pic of him: does he really think that chavs are going to be able to tell the difference between him and a goth?!

Go on Steve Cram, Tim Hutchings,Len Goodman,Bruno Toniolli and all those other bloody commentators who think it is cool to diss an athlete who is one of the best in the world just because they have tattoos, dyed spiky hair or wear black clothes...keep it up. (see our pics for some of these athletes)
Go on, the bloody police who only charged the f*ckers who attacked Sophie and Rob with wounding at first despite the fact that Sophie died...(see further back in our blogs for more info...)
Go on ,the politicians who make "nice" noises with their mouths but have no intention of supporting those agencies like us that need their DELGA policies (hem hem,the Lib Dems?!)
This leaves a bad taste in the mouth...and Ross T**t Noble should have known better.

P.S. I just sent this to Ross Noble's website:
"In the wake of the death of Sophie Lancaster don't you think Ross, dressed in black with long black hair, could have thought of a better taste joke than the one he made about the Blue Peter dog,Petra's grave? It's this kind of talk, the "goths deserve everything they get implication, for looking the way they do"; the oh-yeah-goths-in-full-make-up-sit-in-cemetaries-all-day or sit-in-their-black-rooms-slitting-their-wrists attitude that makes them more a target like poor Sophie and her boyfriend Rob as well as numerous cases of goth hate crimes for which I am curently acting as an advisor.
I await your reply with interest.
You may think it's only comedy; but we endured Benny Hill and Bernard Manning's sexist c**p in the name of comedy; why should comedy take the Mick out of a subculture? Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey seem to manage just fine without having to put down anyone for what they look like and what their subculture actually involves in regards to clothing and lifestyle...

If I get a reply I'll put it here...
